Our client is the largest fast-moving consumer goods company in the Benelux with multiple product branches. In the Netherlands they market about 40 well-known brands within diverse range of products and employs more than 2,500 people.
Role Description
As Financial Accounting Manager Benelux, you’ll ensure accurate financial reporting, lead local accounting processes, and support key business changes. You’ll work closely with the Chief Accountant Manager and lead a small, skilled team from the Rotterdam office.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for both local and group purposes.
- Partner with stakeholders to improve financial processes.
- Support audits and ensure compliance with global financial controls.
- Stay aligned with global accounting updates and integrate changes locally.
- Support structural changes like acquisitions or new business models, implementation of new accounting systems or processes.
- Manage and motivate a team of three assistant managers.
- Collaborate with departments such as Supply Chain, Tax, Legal, Treasury, and Audit.
Requirements
- A finance-related degree or accounting certification.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, Dutch GAAP).
- Experience using ERP systems like SAP.
- Analytical mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
- Resilient and able to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Fluent in English and Dutch.
- Experience in financial accounting, preferably within consumer goods or services.
