Role description 

As a Control Room Specialist at an aseptic manufacturing site, your primary responsibility is to coordinate, manage, and monitor all production-related activities from a central Control Room. You will lead and guide a team of operators, specialists, and technicians, ensuring that production processes comply with quality standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role operates on a 24/7 shift basis to ensure continuous monitoring and optimal production flow. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Shift Managers to coordinate and oversee production planning and personnel management.
  • Monitor and adjust automated processes and workflows to ensure smooth production activities.
  • Authorize production activities based on real-time analysis and measurement results.
  • Operate and manage freeze dryers from the Control Room.
  • Identify and report any deviations or malfunctions, halting operations if safety or procedural standards are compromised.
  • Enforce and explain quality and safety regulations to all personnel.
  • Coordinate with support departments to resolve equipment or process issues.
  • Lead and guide a diverse team of operators, specialists, and technicians.
  • Optimize production resources and schedule tasks efficiently.
  • Monitor and evaluate data, documentation, and process reports.
  • Generate and review batch documentation and track maintenance activities.
  • Report incidents, deviations, and malfunctions through Trackwize.
  • Handle MCPS alarms and evaluate PMS reports.
  • Suggest improvements to enhance production processes.
  • Collaborate with various departments to share knowledge and insights. 

Requirements

  • HBO-level education or equivalent, preferably in Pharmacy, Chemical Technology, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of both aseptic and septic pharmaceutical processes.
  • Familiarity with production control systems and planning techniques.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance systems and Lean Six Sigma/Operational Excellence methodologies.
  • Experience in a coordinating role within a production environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Dutch, both spoken and written.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and reporting abilities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in knowledge transfer and team training.
  • Results-driven with an understanding of cause and effect in production settings.
  • Strong teamwork, leadership, and people management capabilities.
