The Role
As a Mechanical Engineer Materials you will play an essential role in ensuring that the materials used in the clients products are optimized for performance, safety, and quality. Your work will involve testing, analyzing failures, conducting research, and collaborating with other engineers and teams to solve material-related problems.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain the materials testing lab, ensuring all necessary resources for metallography and material testing are available and properly managed.
- Process internal requests from various teams for material analysis, investigations, and consultations, providing expert advice on material-related issues.
- Prepare product and material samples for testing and research, perform root-cause analysis of material failures from development or products returned from the market.
- Scout for new or alternative materials (especially metals) to enhance product designs and ensure optimal material selection for performance, safety, and durability.
- Collaborate with internal experts to develop and improve material models for process simulations, optimizing material behavior predictions in manufacturing processes.
- Write functional specifications for material testing equipment and tooling, ensuring they support the industrialization of testing processes and meet product requirements.
- Communicate research results and testing findings to internal stakeholders, advising on material performance and improvements, and explaining complex technical data to non-technical teams.

Master’s degree in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with a preference for knowledge in metals (especially stainless steel).

Open to recent graduates, but candidates with some experience in materials testing or research are also encouraged to apply.

Strong willingness to learn, with familiarity in metallography, material testing, and simulation processes. Knowledge of material properties (especially metals) is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving skills, communication abilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
