Role description
We are currently looking for a Trade Compliance Manager/Specialist to support global import and export activities. This role is part of the internal Centre of Excellence for Global Trade and Customs and focuses on developing and implementing trade compliance policies, resolving customs matters, and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations across all operations. You will collaborate across teams and regions to support compliance efforts and process improvements.


Key responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage import and export activities in compliance with internal policies and international trade regulations
  • Provide expert guidance on trade compliance to internal stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain trade compliance procedures and policies
  • Serve as the escalation point for trade operations within the team
  • Monitor and interpret trade-related regulatory updates and ensure the organization remains compliant
  • Support audits and inspections related to customs and trade
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with trade compliance strategies
  • Manage export controls, including obtaining necessary permits and licenses
  • Communicate with customs authorities and third-party service providers to resolve operational issues
  • Report on trade compliance metrics and ensure quality performance tracking
  • Manage the relationship with external customs brokerage providers
  • Maintain awareness of certifications such as AEO and other relevant international authorizations

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in the field
  • In-depth knowledge of trade compliance practices including valuation, classification, and country of origin rules
  • Experience working with EU customs and handling complex international trade issues
  • Experience in working with international trade regulations and export controls
  • Certification related to EU customs procedures
  • Experience or education in international trade law
  • Understanding of World Trade Organization regulations
