It specializes in the production of polypropylene, polyethylene, advanced polymers, and other chemicals used in a wide range of industries, including packaging, automotive, and construction.
Role Description
The client is looking for a skilled Project Engineer specializing in Electrical & Instrumentation to support a major improvement project at our Moerdijk site. This is a two-year assignment where you'll play a key role in delivering engineering solutions for petrochemical operations. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing your technical expertise to ensure high standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Managing and executing E&I engineering projects using structured project management methodologies.
- Ensuring adherence to corporate engineering and safety standards.
- Collaborating with internal departments and external partners to drive project success.
- Reviewing and contributing to Management of Change (MOC) processes.
- Providing detailed technical documentation and project reports.
- Actively participating in knowledge-sharing initiatives and technical reviews.
- Supporting design and development of electrical distribution systems and process control setups.
- Maintaining flexibility to assist the team beyond standard working hours when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in the petrochemical sector.
- Proven track record in executing engineering projects.
- Fluent in both Dutch and English, written and spoken.
- Familiarity with Safety Management Systems (e.g., SIS).
- TÜV Functional Safety Engineer certification (a plus).
- Strong understanding and practical application of ATEX regulations.
- Experience designing electrical systems including drives and distribution.
- Solid grasp of instrumentation, analyzers, and PLCs.
- Skilled communicator across various organizational levels.
- Organized, proactive, and able to juggle multiple tasks.
- Competent in technical writing and reporting.
- Knowledge of gated project processes.
- Proficiency with tools like Documentum and Intools
