The company
A major player in the veterinary pharmaceutical industry operates a facility in Boxmeer, where the Site Engineering department oversees capital investment projects. These projects support the production of highly regulated pharmaceutical products, with strict requirements for quality (in line with cGMP standards) and environmental safety (containment of biological and chemical agents). As such, operations are primarily conducted in cleanrooms of varying classifications, with supporting technical systems located externally to facilitate these controlled environments.
Requirements:
-A bachelor’s degree or higher professional education (HBO/HBO+), preferably in Electrical Engineering (HTS) and/or HIT, with VCA-VOL certification.
-Primary responsibility for the technical design of electrical systems and installations in a biological and/or pharmaceutical environment.
-Knowledge of cGMP and biosafety regulations.
-At least 5 years of experience executing projects in pharmaceutical or food production environments, either independently or under the direction of a project manager.
-Ability to independently prepare and manage quotation requests and assess quotations.
-Ability to support internal clients in drafting user requirement specifications related to electrical installations.
-Basic AutoCAD skills.
-Strong understanding of relevant and current legislation, standards, and regulations.
-Ability to work in a structured manner with clear documentation and archiving of agreements, decisions, and technical justifications throughout the project.
-Capability to execute mono-disciplinary projects independently with minimal supervision.
-Ability to manage contractors and/or external engineering firms.
-Ability to assess and manage change orders (variations) and negotiate accordingly.
Qualifications:
-Knowledge of cGMP regulations and biosafety.
-Affinity with cleanroom construction.
-Affinity with architectural and HVAC aspects in pharmaceutical/biotech environments.
-Experience with drafting contracts for engineering and construction activities.
-Knowledge of decontamination systems for cleanrooms (e.g., hydrogen peroxide and others).
-Affinity for environmentally sustainable design.
-Independent, team player, task-oriented, flexible, driven, with strong communication skills and organized.
-Hands-on mentality; not a project manager but a project engineer.
-Proficiency in both written and spoken Dutch.
