The Innovation Group within IOI Loders Croklaan Europe consists of the segment innovation groups Confectionery, Food Ingredients and Non-Food, as well as Discovery and Innovation & Operations Support.

 

The Innovation group further supports the Global Business Units Bakery, Confectionery, and Nutrition. Given our ambition and plans for growth in Nutrition with our so-called Infant oil blends & components and structured lipids (Betapol®), a.o. in context of a new, large innovation programme, we have a vacancy in Wormerveer (NL / Great Amsterdam Region) for a:

 

Technologist Infant Nutrition

 

This job is aimed at the development of new products, often in collaboration with customers and other external parties, product and technical project management, market development and introductions, as well as to support the business in all technical matters.

Responsibilities

  • You develop, together with colleagues in the product development lab, prototypes for testing in our innovation programme as well as with customers.
  • You organize and execute third party trials for production of trial batches of infant formula, for our research programme as well as for customers.
  • You build and drive technology development for infant nutrition components, Betapol® variants and infant oil blend and component solutions, work together with technology suppliers, you are the face to customer on this, and you are able to translate regulations and trends into new formulations.
  • You drive internal and external technology development in the area of contaminants, including sourcing and quality, and you are the face to the customer on this.
  • You perform feasibility studies on (your) new ideas and lead (parts of) innovation projects from idea to implementation and commercialization, including customer support.
  • In this job, you report to the Segment Innovation Manager Food Ingredients with a dotted line to the Global Business Director Human Nutrition.

Requirements

  • BSc or higher, preferably organic (bio-)chemistry and/or food technology;
  • Work experience of 5 years preferably in a product development laboratory, preferably in infant nutrition; 
  • Knowledge of oils and fats, especially on working mechanisms and applications of oils and fats in infant nutrition is a must;
  • Knowledge of and practical experience with fat modification technology, including enzyme technology;
  • Experience with and knowledge of relevant analytical techniques in the oils and fats industry and in Infant Nutrition;
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team;
  • Excellent spoken and written English (Dutch language skills preferred), excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office incl. MS Project, experienced in Intellectual Property and project management;
  • Entrepreneurial, pro-active and creative, flexible and strongly analytical;
